Tuscany

Located in central Italy, Tuscany is home to historic towns like Florence, Siena, Lucca, and Pisa, as well as spectacular landscapes. In general, it is a region known for its art, mouthwatering regional cuisine, wines, and hilltop towns that gaze out over gorgeous valleys.

Tuscany is well known for many things, but its scenery is possibly the most notable and noted characteristic. Its hills, valleys, and cypress trees always seem to arrange themselves into a stunning panorama, whether you are roaming the country lanes or driving the winding route to one of the hilltop towns. More spectacular than the one before it!

The concentration of historic towns in this region is spectacular. For instance, in Florence, you can find The Uffizi Gallery, one of the best museums in the world and the ideal location to admire Renaissance art. This beautiful city is encircled by lush hills and boasts some of Italy’s best architectural designs.

Siena, with its Gothic style, is one of the region’s highlights and its medieval city center is among the best preserved in all of Italy. It is compact and modest, with the magnificent Piazza del Campo, where the yearly historic horse race “Il Palio” is held. The astonishing Cathedral completes the picture.

Pisa hosts the Leaning Tower, a landmark in the globe, and the famous Piazza dei Miracoli. And how could we forget Lucca, surrounded by its Renaissance city walls. Lucca entices visitors with its welcoming appeal, stunning medieval cathedrals, and peaceful, tranquil squares.

Tuscany is also the region where some of Italy’s most well-known wines are produced, including the Supertuscans, Brunello from Montalcino, and the red wines of Chianti.
