Six Senses Rome is what happens when Sustainability meets Luxury. Can such a classy, high level property be eco-friendly? Apparently yes, as this was one of the main goals that the property had in mind while creating this brand-new 5* hotel in Rome which is going to change the idea of Sustainability in town!

A green oasis and social hub located in a historical Palace protected by UNESCO in Rome city center; 96 rooms and suites with a modern and fresh style, made of high-quality materials and furniture and the use of Travertine limestone to give a touch of class; an amazing SPA, equipped with a Roman bathing circuit that includes a caldarium, tepidarium, and frigidarium; an interesting offer in terms of bars and restaurants, focused on delicious recipes prepared using only local products; a breath-taking Rooftop surrounded by aromatic herbs and Mediterranean plants that offers incredible views on the the Eternal city. All of this is Six Senses Rome, where everything is focused on conviviality and Sustainability!

When moving around the property, you will for sure notice how spaces are flooded by natural light and suspended plants. This contributes to reinforcing the commitment at the basis of the project Six Senses Rome to contain the impact on the environment. Among the eco-friendly practices, indeed, we can find the use of 100% renewable energy, smart water collection, waste management – aligning with the Six Senses’ group-wide plastic-free pledge – and guest engagement to make them aware of the importance of choosing environment-friendly properties.

This commitment towards the environment is reflected of course in the F&B offer, with 55% of the all-day dining menu which is plant-based. From farm-raised, grass-fed meats to organic eggs, line-caught fish, and fresh veggies, chefs use the best ingredients the city and the surrounding small farming communities offer. Seasonality is critical, so expect fruits and vegetables at their peak flavor! Unsurprisingly, the chef’s motto is: “Nature is the Mother of all forms of art. We must respect and celebrate her with small gestures”.

The open kitchen at BIVIUM restaurant has a wood-fired oven for pizzas and a Josper grill for meat, fish, and veggies. Stop by one of the deli corners and enjoy the best homemade-gelato and sweets from Delizie, try a specialty coffee from Aroma bar or taste fresh produce and raw food from Sapore. Then, seats at the stylish yet relaxed al fresco inner courtyard, which is also a great place to have breakfast or a business lunch. Not to miss, an aperitif at the NOTOS Rooftop sipping Roman-inspired botanical cocktails, crafted mocktails, and trying delicious bites while admiring the sunset on the Ethernal City.

But that is not all, as the offer at Six Senses Rome can’t be considered complete without mentioning one of the best SPA and Wellness center in town, that awaits you for a spa day, treatment, or fitness class. The Roman bathing circuit offers a sociable and immersive experience for balancing mind and body. In addition, the in-house specialists provide a variety of treatments, from signature body massages to results-driven personalised facials. You may also enjoy private sessions of hatha yoga, guided meditation and breathing exercise, or ask expert advice to build up your personalised non-invasive yogic cleanse with low-intensity training, detoxifying therapies and mind-body practices.

This beautifully renovated structure strives for LEED Gold certification for sustainable design and construction, using the highest levels of water and energy efficiency. Actually, the hotel gets all of its power from green sources! Visitors and members of the neighbourhood community are invited to gather in the hotel’s Earth Lab to exchange ideas for a more sustainable future. Last but not least, since Sustainability begins and ends with local communities, 0.5% of the hotel’s revenue goes towards a dedicated Sustainability Fund, which is aimed exclusively at community-based environmental and social projects.
