Sant’Egle is an exclusive 17th century organic farmhouse. Since 2010, our off-grid visionary project has been dedicated to anyone who wants to make a positive change in the world. We have the power to make good choices, and this is a place where your holiday can have zero impact on the environment.
Here, you can find the values needed for sustainable growth. This eco-organic luxury resort has the lowest levels of environmental impact; every day, the property respects the ethical practices which go beyond the many prizes and institutional certificates won. Sant’Egle’s building is an environmentally friendly structure, with zero impact and a focus on the preservation of biodiversity. 100% of the energy used comes from renewable sources. As a result, WWF Italy has named the property as one of the best farm in Italy for sustainability and conservation of biodiversity. The farm takes part in a project of the Tuscany Region of Agriculture Social, providing disabled people an opportunity for social integration within the world of work.
Spirulina, saffron, Stevia, fruits, and vegetables are cultivated here following the organic synergistic and biodynamic method. Breakfast, like all the dishes of our restaurant, is made with organic goods from farms in the area.
The garden, the property, and each room at Sant’Egle create unique environments through objects, colors and communicative artifacts displayed in rotation by artists from around the world. Throughout the farm there are mangers, natural and artificial nests, to help small birds in Winter and migratory birds during the Summer. While sitting in the pool, it is easy to enjoy bird watching. A pond filled with aquatic plants is the home of many dragonflies, aquatic insects, frogs and reptiles that help the proper balance of the food web, pollination, and biodiversity conservation.
Sant’Egle property is composed by 4 suites and 2 luxury tent in glamping area, all with private bath and entrance. All guests have access to a porch furnished with comfortable sofas and pillows, a garden with an olive tree under which there are tables, chairs, hammocks, and a gazebo to enjoy exquisite moments of relaxation, and a straw theater where during the summer you can watch movies under the stars as well as live shows of various kinds.
